Cartoon Network primarily shows animated programming that includes original cartoons, Japanese anime and Canadian programs. Previous signature cartoons such as "Dexter's Laboratory" and "The Power Puff Girls" have made way for current originals such as "Ben 10," "Chowder" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

Begun in 1992, Cartoon Network also shares channel space with its late-night adult-oriented channel programming block called Adult Swim.
