Showtime is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CBS Corporation. The Showtime Networks Inc. family includes a variety of specialized Showtime platforms, as well as The Movie Channel, Flix and Smithsonian Networks.

Long considered a distant second behind HBO in the premium cable race, Showtime has gained ground with recent scripted successes including "Dexter" and "Weeds" as well as a number of creative partnerships within the CBS Corporation family.
