Veteran actor Charles Durning receives SAG's 44th Life Achievement Award during gala ceremonies from Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. Among top industry kudos presented to performers, only the SAG Awards are selected exclusively by the actors' peers and are widely seen as a strong indicator of the Academy Awards to follow. Two randomly selected panels (one for TV, one for film), each made up of 2,100 SAG members, celected this year's panel of nominees.
