• 'Heroes': More human than human

  Many great works of art have dealt with the question, "What does it mean to be human?" I wouldn't exactly put Heroes in the upper echelon of art, but I give it props for at least trying to apply the question to its own universe. The result? As with almost everything Heroes, a mixed bag. Furthermore, tonight's episode was little more than a long setup for next week's payoffs, so those looking for answers were left in the cold. Those looking to explore age-old questions? Well, they found quite a bit to chew on.

• 'Heroes': The sides (and the stars) start to align

  In many ways, tonight's episode title told you all you needed to know about narrative progression in this week's edition of Heroes. The ultimate purpose of "It's Coming" was to set the table for the final run of this hit-and-miss volume of the once can't-miss show. Emphasis lay in character, not action. It wasn't exactly a placeholder, but you still felt the show holding back as it maneuvered all the pieces into place.

• 'Heroes' does the time warp. Again.

  Say this for Monday's Heroes: At least it didn't repeat the "Several Months Ago" structure of the back story-revealing flashback episodes from seasons one and two. And we got to see a few previously unknown connections between some of the characters. But what, exactly, are we supposed to take away from "Villains"?

• Checking in on the new faces in old places . . .

  We’ve had a lot of new faces hanging around some of our favorite shows this fall so let’s take a look at how they are doing.
• 'Heroes' drops two of its producers

  Heroes has terminated two of its own, and unlike the on-screen deaths in the NBC show, the firing of co-executive producers Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander will likely be permanent.
• Reporting in for the season finale of 'Army Wives'

  I am not pleased with the ads for the season finale of Army Wives (Sunday at 10 p.m. on Lifetime).
• Robert Forster, aka 'Mr Petrelli' of 'Heroes,' Speaks...

  Arthur Petrelli may be flat on his back in a hospital bed, only able to speak by using some sort of mental telepathy or appearing in the prophetic dreams of Company honcho Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), but on the Heroes set in August, actor Robert Forster is upright and speaking normally.
• Fun with ratings: Lots of people are DVR-ing 'Fringe'

  Hey, remember premiere week? That time three weeks ago when all the networks were filled with optimism that this was gonna be their year? Well, we finally know just how many people watched the shows that aired then.
