Genre: News, Politics
Premise: On the left: Van Jones and Stephanie Cutter. On the right: Newt Gingrich and S.E. Cupp. Who is in the crossfire? The weekday political debate program that aired prominently on CNN from 1982 to 2005 is back with a new cast but a format that is essentially the same. Each half-hour episode features two of the regular panelists -- one a liberal and the other a conservative -- and two guests debating a topic. At the end of each show, the hosts declare a ``ceasefire'' in an attempt to find common ground on the topic. Jones and Cutter are former advisers to President Obama; Gingrich was House Speaker from 1995 to 1999; and Cupp is a columnist and commentator.
