Show Summary

Scientists throughout the ages have often performed experiments that, in hindsight, may have seemed somewhat questionable. This series, hosted by actor John Noble (``Fringe''), recalls stories of actual scientific undertakings that just didn't push the envelope, but soared off into Dr. Frankenstein territory. Dramatized re-enactments bring to life Soviet scientist Dr. Ilya Ivanov's attempt to crossbreed humans and apes, UFO researcher Morris Jessup's investigation of government invisibility experiments, and other outlandish-but-true topics. Viewers are then left to form their own opinions about whether these profiled individuals were truly way ahead their time, or just plain crackers.
