Divine Canine: With the Monks of New Skete

As part of their efforts to cultivate devotion, obedience and fulfillment, the brothers of New Skete, an order of Eastern Orthodox monks, breed dogs, using their bonds with these animals as a way to reach enlightenment and gain a higher awareness and appreciation of the nature and mystery of God. Each episode features the monks in their sprawling monastic community near Cambridge, N.Y., where they use a holistic training approach to transform pups with personality problems into ``divine canines.''
