After substance abuse and insanely self-destructive and obnoxious behavior throw a knuckle ball at his major league baseball career, former pitcher Kenny Powers retreats to his North Carolina hometown, where he takes a job teaching physical education at the middle school he once attended. After discovering that his old high-school flame is also on the faculty, Kenny vows to win her back, despite the fact that she is engaged to the principal of the school, in this colorful and frequently profane sitcom from executive producers Will Ferrell and series star and co-creator Danny McBride (''Tropic Thunder'').
