Premise: A former high-school geek, Emily Owens looks forward to life as a surgical intern at Denver Memorial Hospital and the opportunity to work with renowned cardiologist Dr. Gina Beckett. However, she arrives to discover her med school crush, Will, isn't the only familiar face; Cassandra Kopelson, her beautiful and popular high-school nemesis is interning there too and seems to have set her sights on the same guy. Emily soon learns from her new friend, Tyra, that the hospital social hierarchy is as cliquey as high school, and while she might never be one of the cool kids, she can grow to be a great doctor.
