Premise: Judge Penny Brown Reynolds draws on her legal experience as a former prosecutor and assistant attorney general in Georgia to render decisions in cases involving bickering couples, reckless parents and child custody. In the process, the show also illustrates Reynolds' concern for the litigants, a by-product of her growing up poor and raised by a single mother. Still, she doesn't take kindly to excuses.
