It's had many locations in and around Nashville, Tenn., and many different broadcast partners, but the venerable Grand Ole Opry remains known as country's most famous stage. It began as the radio broadcast of a ``barn dance'' in the 1920s, ultimately adding television broadcasts and changing venues to make room for the throngs of fans who want to see the show. Past performers represent a Who's Who of country music, from Roy Acuff, Patsy Cline and Minnie Pearl to Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
