Oh, Greatest American Dog. I go away for two lousy weeks (thanks for covering, Tamara!), and while I'm gone you eliminate my favorite pair? Uncool. Bill and Star were the sweetest pair of reality show contestants I think I've ever seen, aside from being talented competitors. Let's all pause for a moment in rememberence before moving on to the finale. [Single tear] ...Okay.

Tonight's Greatest American Dog started late and I missed the last few minutes of it. Bleh. "Thanks Republican Convention," she says sarcastically.

Harnesses and balance beams a plenty on this week's Greatest American Dog. I have the urge to start chanting "U-S-A" but that might just be my Olympic withdrawal talking...

Puppies, you guys. Puppies. Tonight's episode of Greatest American Dog made me wonder if the only thing normally keeping me from loving this show (or any show, for that matter) is the lack of puppies. Seriously, they bump it up at least one letter grade.

I'm gonna be straight with you guys right now: I'm coming from a happy "hour" that lasted more than three hours, and I'm a wee bit buzzed. Plus, I'm totally sleep-deprived from staying up late to watch gymnastics.

This week is all about coordination on Greatest American Dog, and I'm not talking about coordinating your dog's tiny little sweater with his tiny little socks. SIGH. It's also becoming pretty apparent which dogs will be the last two standing, which makes the next few weeks seem a bit (more) pointless.

First of all, I apologize for the tardiness of this recap! I didn't realize that Greatest American Dog had aired one night early until I was headed out the door for work this morning. So for just this week, let's pretend it's still airing on Thursday nights. Cool? Cool.

Sadly, I can't take credit for the quote in the subject line of this post. "I'm gonna stop pretending that people aren't psychotic" can be attributed to Laurie, and it's my new motto while watching Greatest American Dog.

Dear CBS: When I said that Greatest American Dog was the greatest reality show of all time, I WAS BEING SARCASTIC. That should have been clear when I compared it to Age of Love. Replace "greatest" with "most ridiculous," and you're in the ballpark.

Brace yourselves, because what I'm about to say might come as a bit of a shock: Greatest American Dog is, without a doubt, the greatest reality show of all time. Last summer I thought that honor went to Age of Love, but this show has everything! Crazy premise? Check. Equally crazy contestants? Check. Ridiculous challenges? Check.
