Premise: Midwestern cuisine is the focus of this series hosted by author Amy Thielen, whose book ``The New Midwestern Table: 200 Heartland Recipes'' is the basis for the program. The half-hour episodes feature Thielen introducing viewers to the food, unique characters, and important traditions of the Midwest, with her hope that foodies everywhere will fall in love with the region's captivating flavors, the backbone of much of the country's food heritage. The Minnesota-born Thielen is an award-winning writer and was a professional chef for 10 years.
