Close-knit gal pals pill- and alcohol-fueled escapades frequently cross the boundaries of propriety and good taste. Flamboyant romance novelist Ellie would love even more playtime with publisher and best friend Dott, but Dott has her hands full at her publishing house. At home, Dott's patience is tried by her ultra-conservative teenage son, her hyper-critical mother, and her new houseguest - a mousy former college classmate who has just separated from her husband.
