Middle-aged psychologist Paul Weston confronts some uneasy truths about his relationship with his wife while conducting therapy sessions with his patients. Among them are Laura, whose infatuation with Paul threatens her relationship with her boyfriend; Alex, a Navy pilot suppressing guilt after botched military intelligence leads him to bomb an Iraqi school; Sophie, a 16-year-old aspiring Olympic gymnast; and Jake and Amy, a couple whose marriage is held together by sexual attraction.
