Under apartheid in South Africa, Col. Kruger is a merciless interrogator who symbolizes an era's cruelty. Among his victims is professor Marty Strydom, who is jailed for engaging in rebellious activities. Recognizing a willful spirit, Kruger works hard to break his subject.
