Despite the warning from "Kyle XY" producers that the series would end in a cliffhanger, it was still a shock to see the magnitude of what was left up in the air.

It was truly a magical night on Kyle XY because 1) it made cynical Lori a romantic, 2) Jessi finally began to think less selfishly before acting and 3) something bad happens to Ablanda!

And just like that, with a few well-placed smiles, my aggravation turns to pity for Jessi on the latest Kyle XY. Jessi is just pure Greek tragedy. If she even so much as hopes -- like when she waits to meet her DNA mom Sarah -- you're just waiting for that other shoe to drop.

Oh, I am so filled with righteous anger from Kyle XY. Naturally, one of the targets of my ire is that upstart Jessi.

I'd love to blame Jessi for this latest Kyle XY drama, but she's really not at fault. Well, maybe indirectly.

You know, I've been very tolerant of Jessi's antics on Kyle XY since she's obviously the genetic problem child to balance out Kyle's more balanced, moral self, but honestly, if her behavior is the cause of his downfall, I will be very PO'd.

Tonight's Kyle XY was a little frustrating since it was setting a few story arcs into motion, including progressing a few romances, throwing a monkey wrench into Lori and Declan's shaky friendship and bringing impressionable Jessi under Brian Taylor's thumb even more.

Here it is -- what I've been waiting for on Kyle XY. Ablanda gets pulled into the action and the Tragers' secret to the point where she can no longer be the bland, outsider plot device. There's only so much puppy dog "trust me" stuff she can take from Kyle now that she's seen and (overheard) some pretty incriminating things.

Kyle XY asks how far you would go for love. Would you go 38 feet and 9 inches?

I gotta admit, even though the latest Kyle XY was a little bit afterschool special-y, the show is great with delivering messages and never gets too cheesy or preachy. In fact, it usually has a great "awww" moment that gets me every time.
