Premise: ``Live With Regis and Kelly'' is a morning chat show; hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa welcome guests to the stage for short interviews and, in the case of musical artists, a performance. Occasionally they give cooking demonstrations with well-known chefs and showcase the latest fashions with stylists to the stars. But what makes the show unique is the banter between its hosts. Philbin's original co-host was Kathie Lee Gifford, who left the show in 2000, after which the producers went on an extended search for her replacement. Ripa, a former soap actress, got the job and started in February 2001.
