Premise: Renowned New York butcher Pat LaFrieda runs Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors, a third-generation wholesale meat purveyor business. Working with his cousin, Mark, and father Pat Sr., LaFrieda provides high-quality meat to hundreds of customers, including some of New York's most-prestigious restaurants and bistros. The business has expanded from a small corner shop to a 35,000-square-foot facility in New Jersey, and with such growth comes pressure to maintain the quality of product that LaFrieda has become known for and managing the many hurdles that pop up. This series focuses on those hurdles and highlights what it's like to deal with such issues as last-minute requests, creating custom burger blends, dealing with difficult customers and navigating the different personalities of the staff.
