Premise: Norm Henderson is a former professional hockey player who has been banned from the league because of gambling and tax evasion costs. In order to avoid spending time in jail, Norm agrees to do five years of community service as a social worker. The problem is he was not properly trained (other than how to operate the coffee machine). Helping Norm is Laurie, previously his personal social worker who is now his co-worker and best friend. Taylor, Norm's first client and a former prostitute, credits Norm with turning her life around and ends up working in the office.
