Four-time Grammy nominee Jewel hosts this competition series in addition to serving as a judge alongside head judge, and former ``American Idol'' judge, Kara DioGuardi. The judges' task: find the next great songwriting sensation. Twelve emerging singer-songwriters compete to earn the honor, with eliminations occurring every week. The contestants battle their way through a series of innovative songwriting challenges that test their creativity, patience and drive. Each episode features a different theme, ranging from dance tracks to love ballads, requiring the contestants to write lyrics in a variety of genres. As the songwriters live together during the competition, their personal drama unfolds with the viewers watching. The winner's prize package includes $100,000, a publishing deal with Sony and a recording deal with RCA/Jive.
