Fed up with the world's cruelties, Russell Greene takes his family -- wife Wendy, son Josh, daughter Dinah and nephew Nathaniel -- on a sort of spiritual road trip to help those in need. With their motto, ``We're all on this road together,'' they travel across the country, pulling their trailer, to redefine what the American Dream really means. Russell's mother, Hattie Greene, also appears on the show. This series is a spinoff of popular drama series ``Touched by an Angel,'' with characters from that show occasionally making guest appearances on ``Promised Land.''
