Premise of 'Robin Hood'

Upon his return to England after fighting alongside King Richard in the Third Crusade, Robin Hood is pleased to note that his former fiancee, Lady Marian, is still unmarried, but his attempts to rekindle their romance are hampered by handsome Sir Guy of Gisborne, the sheriff's second-in-command, who has designs of his own on Marian. Robin's plight is made even more serious when the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham declares him an outlaw, forcing Robin to take refuge in nearby Sherwood Forest, where he assembles a band of companions that include his former manservant, Much, along with Little John, Will Scarlet, Allan A Dale and Djaq, a Saracen refugee.
