She Had to Say Yes

Sol Glass's (Ferdinand Gottschalk) department store is struggling in the Depression, so he decides to have the store's stenographers become customer girls -- women paid to entertain important clients and close deals. One such stenographer, Florence Denny (Loretta Young), is forbidden from acting as a customer girl by her fiancé, Tommy (Regis Toomey), until he realizes they both need the extra cash for their marriage. The money is good, but Florence's new job complicates their relationship.
