"I don't know what a body slave is but I'm going to find out!"...
The prequel to ``Spartacus: Blood and Sand'' tells the story of the original champion of the House of Batiatus, in a time when gladiators were more ruthless and every man was out for himself. While his father is away in Sicily, Batiatus gains temporary power of the house, but he isn't satisfied with the succession plan as currently constructed; he's poised to not only overthrow his father but also gain power and prestige in Capua. With his loyal and calculating wife, Lucretia, by his side, and his infamous gladiator Gannicus embracing his champion status, Batiatus' ambitious schemes have no bounds.
