During a night on the town with her pretentious husband-to-be, Henry Greene, down-to-earth southern gal Isabelle Perry catches the eye of Gus Di Ruvo, a smooth-talking opera singer. When an enraged Greene scolds Perry for dancing with Di Ruvo, she promptly rejects his marriage proposal, bids him farewell and stays at the bar with Di Ruvo and his friends. But, as the evening wears on, Perry grows curious about her handsome acquaintance's intentions.
