The series follows Sutton Foster's Michelle, a Las Vegas showgirl who moves to a small town with her new husband and becomes the newest teacher at her mother-in-law's dance school....

A formerly idealistic middle-school English teacher tries to maintain a sense of hope about his job and his students. Trampling on that hope daily are some of his fellow teachers, including a burned-out instructor who likes to spend his time barbecuing behind the gym.
