The Beat

Premise: With unlimited behind-the-scenes access, ``The Beat'' follows the police as they patrol Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, one of Canada's most dangerous and controversial neighborhoods. It's an area crippled by poverty, rampant drug addiction, mental illness and a troubling HIV infection rate, and the men and women of the Beat Enforcement Team's Squad Three are often the last line of defense between order and chaos in this community.
