Premise: For its sixth season, ``The Great Food Truck Race'' hits one of America's most iconic stretches of road, Route 66. For the first time since Season 2, the seven teams competing already own their own food trucks and are established businesses in their local areas. After kicking off their journey at the Santa Monica Pier in California, the teams head down Route 66, with stops in Flagstaff, Ariz., Santa Fe, N.M., and St. Louis, Mo., competing in challenges along the way until they reach the finale -- and end of the road -- in Chicago. Of course, this is a competition, so not all the teams will make it to the Windy City. Teams are eliminated throughout the season, with the winning team earning a $50,000 grand prize.
In Sedona, Ariz., the teams must make a dish incorporating the local delicacy, rattlesnake and rabbit sausage; the teams leave the comfort of their trucks to sell from pink jeeps.
In Santa Fe, N.M., the five teams must use peppers to create the ultimate spicy meal; the teams only have one hour to shop for the entire weekend and go head-to-head at the farmers' market.
