The Sea Gull

An adaptation of the landmark Chekhov play, this film follows Konstantin, an aspiring writer whose unloving mother, Arkadina, is involved with haughty novelist Trigorin . Trigorin also attracts the attentions of Nina, a young woman whom Konstantin has loved from afar. After two years, Arkadina's brother becomes very sick, reuniting everyone and leading Konstantin to make an irrevocable decision about his future.
