Popular vaudeville performer Eddie Foy is on a roll when he weds beautiful Italian singer Madeleine Morando . The couple has seven children, who are brought up mostly by Madeleine and her sister, while Eddie's fame continues to grow. Tragedy strikes, however, when Madeleine dies of pneumonia, leaving Eddie and his family devastated. Eventually, his manager, Barney Green, convinces Eddie to incorporate his kids into his act, with amusingly mixed results.
