Premise: Carson Daly returns to host the fourth season of the nationwide search for new vocal talent. Celebrity coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira guide hopefuls through the four stages of the competition -- the blind auditions, the battle round, the knockouts and the live stage shows. During auditions, the coaches must choose their team members based exclusively on their voices. The teams then get guidance from their coaches and celebrity advisers to help the members develop as artists. During battles, the coaches start whittling down their teams, but as a contestant is eliminated, another coach has the opportunity pick him or her up. The knockout rounds see the singers being paired with another member minutes before performing, with one being sent home. After the final live performance phase, viewers at home help vote to decide who will be named the winner and receive a recording contract.
