Forced to close his detective agency due to lack of business, Bill Reardon returns to his former work as a lawyer, only to have his wife, Sally, successfully resurrect the agency. Wealthy socialite Lola Fraser hires Sally to spy on her husband, Walter. Sally's investigation, which Bill joins, uncovers a complex web around Walter. When Walter is murdered, Sally's information becomes essential to the police, the suspect -- and the killer.
