After bidding adieu to Bailey, her longtime squeeze on ``Party of Five,'' Sarah moves to New York to find her biological father. Instead, she meets some colorful characters who open up a gritty new world for her. They include Romy, her roommate and a struggling actress; John, a struggling musician; bar waitress Joss; Cecelia, her eccentric landlady; and friendly neighbor J.B.
