To Kill a Mockingbird

Young Scout Finch and her older brother, Jem, grow up in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama, spending much of their time with their friend Dill spying on their reclusive neighbor, Boo Radley . When their idealistic lawyer father Atticus Finch defends a young black man named Tom Robinson on rape charges, the trial and subsequent events open the children's eyes about the evils of racism and stereotyping.
