Vital Signs

Genre: Drama

Premise: Desperate to work in a more challenging field and to help her son in his battle against cystic fibrosis, Rhoda Bradley comes up with a healthy idea. The 35-year-old working-class mother of three decides to enter medical school, leaving behind -- for now -- her dead-end job as a supermarket checkout assistant. And that's when the challenge really starts, as obstacles including unsupportive family members, difficult school instructors and juggling family time with study time seem to pop up at every turn.
